Under the Small, Rural School Achievement (SRSA) program, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number 84.358A, the U.S. Department of Education (Department) awards grants on a formula basis to eligible local educational agencies (LEAs) to address the unique needs of rural school districts. In this notice, we establish the deadline and describe the submission procedures for fiscal year (FY) 2017 SRSA grant applications. All LEAs eligible for FY 2017 SRSA funds must submit an application electronically via Grants.gov by the deadline in this notice. Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number 84.358A All LEAs eligible for FY 2017 SRSA grant funds are required to submit an electronic application using the Governmentwide Grants.gov Apply site at www.Grants.gov by June 30, 2017 by 4:30:00 p.m., Washington, DC time. SRSA applications must be submitted electronically using Grants.gov unless you qualify for an exception to this requirement, in accordance with the instructions in this section. Through the Grants.gov Web site, you will be able to download a copy of the SRSA application package, complete it offline, and then upload and submit your application. You may not email an electronic copy of a grant application to us. On April 17, 2017, we published in the Federal Register (82 FR 18131) a notice of application deadline for fiscal year (FY) 2017 for the Small, Rural School Achievement (SRSA) formula grant program, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number 84.358A. The notice of application deadline established a deadline date of June 30, 2017, for eligible local education agencies (LEAs) to submit their FY 2017 SRSA applications in the Grants.gov system. This notice reopens the application period in Grants.gov until July 28, 2017. DATES: Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: July 28, 2017.
