Description
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), Family Violence Prevention and Services (FVPSA) Program seeks to award one grant authorized under the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act to establish and maintain the National Indian Resource Center Addressing Domestic Violence and Safety for Indian Women (NIRC). The NIRC shall offer a comprehensive array of technical assistance and training resources to Indian tribes and tribal organizations to enhance their capacity to respond to the domestic violence; enhance the intervention and prevention efforts of Indian tribes and tribal organizations to increase the safety of Indian women; and coordinate activities with other Federal agencies, offices, and grantees that address the needs of Indians (including Alaska Natives), and Native Hawaiians that experience domestic violence. The NIRC is part of a network of National, Special Issue, Culturally Specific, and Capacity Building Resource Centers providing leadership, training, technical assistance, resources, and support to programs and systems serving victims of domestic violence and their children.
