Description

U.S. Embassy Islamabad’s Public Affairs Section (PAS) is pleased to announce competition for an assistance award through our Public Diplomacy Grants program. U.S. Embassy Islamabad invites eligible organizations (see Eligibility Requirements) to submit proposals for an award to support a series of media reporting tours to showcase various aspects of the U.S.-Pakistan relationship, including longstanding development and assistance programs. The resulting news and feature stories produced during this program, which will be implemented as a Cooperative Agreement, will highlight the U.S.-Pakistan partnership in a wide range of areas such as health, education, entrepreneurship, women's empowerment, law enforcement, energy, infrastructure and other areas of civilian collaboration. The program is designed to inform the Pakistani public about: 1) how U.S. civilian assistance is contributing to Pakistan’s stability, prosperity, and self-reliance; and 2) how, working in cooperation with the Government of Pakistan, international donors, and development partners, U.S. assistance has supported Pakistan’s efforts to spur trade and economic growth, and strengthen the rule of law, civil society, people-to-people ties, and the fight against infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, as well as the direct impact of related programs.The program will provide reporters from approximately six national and regional news outlets with access to U.S. Government programs and subject-matter experts for story development, with the understanding that they will subsequently produce content and run reports in their respective media outlets. At least 50 percent of the program participants will be female journalists. This Cooperative Agreement will feature projects identified by the U.S. Embassy. The news and feature stories produced by Pakistani journalists under this program will aim to broaden understanding about the multi-faceted U.S.-Pakistan partnership. This program’s direct target audience is professional journalists from approximately six media outlets while the indirect audience is the Pakistani public whose primary source of information is national and regional media.
