Description

The field of corrections is facing a crisis in their lack of experience within their leadership ranks. This is due to retirement buy-outs, mandatory hazard duty retirement and the continuous departure of the Baby Boomer generation employees, from their full time, correctional work. All of these elements, singular and combined, have created a knowledge void. This is especially true in the functions that involve senior level skill and ability. With responsibility for statewide correctional operations, the agency CEO is tasked with finding the workforce talent to manage and lead multidisciplinary components, including human capital and resources ,workforce development, re-engineering training academies, budget/fiscal management, agency policy and procedure, and constituent and stakeholders engagement. The target audience are correctional leaders functioning in senior level positions, such as Deputy Wardens, Wardens, Asst. Regional Director, Regional Directors, County Jail Chiefs, Parole Chiefs, Probation Chiefs and comparable positions through the correctional industry.
