Description

USACE intends to enter into a Cooperative Agreement to monitor oyster reefs constructed by USACE in the Chesapeake Bay. The monitoring will determine the status and condition of oyster populations on the reefs. Monitoring of alternate substrate oyster restoration sites in Harris Creek and the Tred Avon River is planned through 2027. This agreement will cover monitoring efforts from 2021 through 2027. Additionally, status monitoring of sites in the Severn River and Cook Point Sanctuary (Choptank River) are planned. Two types of monitoring are to be completed across the seven-year period: 1) post-construction monitoring and (3 and 6 year surveys), and 2) sentinel site monitoring on alternate substrate sites in the Tred Avon River.
