This is solely a request for information and is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement. The Department of Energy is not accepting applications to this Request for Information.The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity is seeking public comment through a Request for Information, DEFOA0002992 regarding the planned approach for Storage Innovations 2030: Liftoff. SI Liftoff is planned to build upon the strategic efforts initiated in the other three pillars of SI 2030, Framework, Prize, and Flight Paths, by fostering diverse partnerships of companies within or among storage technology industries to tackle pre-competitive research and development challenges. DOE is releasing this RFI to notify interested parties of its intent to implement SI Liftoff and to describe the proposed plan and timeline. The Department also seeks input from all stakeholders through this RFI regarding pre-competitive R&D opportunities, consortia development, and how the goals of SI 2030 may advance other Department priorities including equity and workforce development.Information collected from this RFI may be used by DOE for planning purposes, which could include possibly developing future Funding Opportunity Announcements, other solicitations or technical assistance efforts related to the Office of Energy program. The information collected may be published, therefore, DOE strongly encourages that no confidential business information or proprietary information be submitted and, if such information is provided, all documents are marked accordingly. This is an RFI only. DOE will not pay for information provided under this RFI and no project will be supported as a result of this RFI. This RFI is not accepting applications for financial assistance.
