Description

This project will utilize a 8-person youth corps trail crew on the trail system of Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain Battlefields. Most of the trails within the Chickamauga and Chattanooga NMP are severely worn and damaged due to age, erosion, and years of overuse. Utilizing work crews to assist in this project not only allows the park to accomplish much needed work at a reduced cost but also enforces within these youth the need to respect and maintain the park resources. The quality of visitor experience directly relates to trail conditions. Maintenance of trails is critical to providing a safe trail experience for visitors.
