U.S. Department of State Venezuela Affairs Unit Notice of Funding Opportunity Funding Opportunity Title: Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund 2024 Funding Opportunity Number: FY2024VE002 Deadline for Applications: February 15, 2024 Assistance Listing Number: 19.040 Total Amount Available: $70,000 (two grants up to $35,000 each) A. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Venezuela Affairs Unit (VAU) Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for past participants (“alumni”) of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to submit applications to the 2024 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2024). We seek proposals from teams of at least two alumni that meet all program eligibility requirements below. Exchange alumni interested in participating in AEIF 2024 should submit proposals to VAUPublicEngagement@fan.gov by February 15, 2024. Program Objectives: AEIF provides alumni of U.S. government-sponsored and facilitated exchange programs with funding to expand on skills gained during their exchange experience to design and implement innovative solutions to global challenges facing their community. Since its inception in 2011, AEIF has funded nearly 500 alumni-led projects around the world through a competitive global competition. The Public Diplomacy Section of the VAU will accept projects proposed and managed by teams of at least two (2) alumni that support one of the following themes: 1. Programs that promote democratic values and citizen participation to young people (18-24 years old) to inspire an active citizenry. 2. Programs that build NGO leadership skills in the following areas: governance tools, operational capacity, and/or financial management skills to support and expand the Venezuelan NGO community. B. FEDERAL AWARD INFORMATION Length of performance period: up to 12 months Number of awards anticipated: two awards (dependent on amounts) Award amounts: up to $35,000 Total available funding: $70,000 Type of funding: FY24 Smith-Mundt Public Diplomacy Funds Anticipated program start date: May 1, 2024 This notice is subject to availability of funding.
